Our Vision For The futher

After almost 80 years in existence, we were able, for the first time to get our own piece of ground. Spearheaded by Kay Cantwell, leasing with Tipperary County Council, we secured a 37-year lease on a 6-acre field to the rear of the Community Sports Center on the Ballybeg road in Littleton, not alone in the center of the parish of Moycarkey Borris, but also the center point of Tipperary.

2022 – 2023

2022 to 2023, we received funding to remove one of our containers and replaced it with a state-of-the-art container, finished to a high standard, including 2 toilet areas a 230ft2 general purpose room. This year we also secured funding to level the infield, to finish it with sports grass suitable for all throws as well as for the very young. This also included laying ducting to facility the lowering of the overhead ESB cabling.

2021 – 2022

2021 to 2022 saw the development of a 500m long hard standing 2m wide walkway around our field. With this, we installed lighting, which covered all our field and made it safe for use during the long evenings. During this development we established a 7 to 8m wide, 500m long and grassed this area for Cross Country training.

2019 – 2020

In 2019 to 2020, we secured funding to complete the final bend from the 200m mark to the 100m mark. This was finished to the same standard as the first 100m. With this completed we now had 200m track which was 8 lane wide, for use.

2018

In 2018 we received planning permission to develop an International size, Olympic style 8 lane athletic track to include lighting and all the facilities associated with Athletics. Also, in 2018 we received funding to develop the final 100m of track to a hard standing finish, suitable for use by all ages from 5 years up.
