Strong Showing at the John Kelly Olympian 7.5km Memorial Road Race

Moycarkey Coolcroo AC athletes turned out in force for the John Kelly Olympian 7.5km Memorial Road Race in Loughmore on Good Friday, with a superb 1–2 finish from Mossy Bracken and Matthew Ryan leading the way.

Moycarkey Coolcroo AC was proudly represented in Loughmore on Good Friday for the John Kelly Olympian 7.5km Memorial Road Race—a special event held in honour of the late local Olympian John Kelly. It was a fantastic evening of road running, community spirit, and strong performances across the board from our club members.

Leading the charge for Moycarkey Coolcroo AC were Mossy Bracken and Matthew Ryan, who shared top honours with a joint first-place finish in 25:10. Both men pushed hard from the start and crossed the line together, showcasing the strength and depth of our senior squad.

Not far behind, Donie Bergin claimed a top 10 finish, coming home in 9th place with a solid time of 29:25, continuing his fine form after his recent personal best in Kilkenny.

There were more strong results from:

  • Liam Meaney, 18th in 31:22
  • Paudie Guidera, 20th in 31:55
  • John Molumby, 56th in 38:29
  • Paddy Ryan, 65th in 41:29
  • Tim Hayden, 85th in 47:49

These performances highlight the mix of experienced racers and developing athletes coming through the ranks of the club, all proudly wearing the red and black.

A big well done to everyone who took part and represented Moycarkey Coolcroo AC with grit and determination.
