Scorching Performances on the Warmest Day of the Year

As temperatures soared, so did the performances of our Moycarkey-Coolcroo AC athletes, with blistering runs in Meath and Cork. Mossy Bracken smashed the 70-minute barrier at the Bohermeen Half Marathon, while Shane Minogue and Kevin Shortall delivered season-best times in their respective races.

Blazing Runs in Bohermeen

On the warmest day of the year so far, Moycarkey-Coolcroo AC athletes were in action across the country, delivering standout performances despite the challenging conditions. At the Bohermeen Half Marathon in Meath, Mossy Bracken put in a lightning-fast run, breaking the prestigious 70-minute barrier with a phenomenal time of 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 15 seconds. His efforts secured him a top 8 finish in a field of nearly 2,000 runners—a testament to his endurance and determination.

Shane Minogue also lined up in Bohermeen and produced an excellent performance, clocking a season’s best of 1 hour, 18 minutes, and 36 seconds. A strong run that reflects his hard work and commitment this season.

Kevin Shortall’s Strong Showing in Cork

Meanwhile, in Cork, Kevin Shortall was flying the club colours at the Midleton Greenway 10 Mile. Pushing through the heat, he recorded a season’s best of 62 minutes and 28 seconds, proving his endurance is right where it needs to be for the season ahead.

A Day to Remember

With all three athletes delivering top-class performances in tough conditions, it was another fantastic day for Moycarkey-Coolcroo AC. Well done to Mossy, Shane, and Kevin for their superb efforts—plenty more to come this season!
